Never tell Africa to bring it on!

Yesterday at church lookin like sister missionaries! haha
This week was pretty crazy!! We did get some work done amidst the crazy though so that is good!! We had a few more meetings and I think we finally have a set schedule! Or a close to set schedule!

Monday we met with Margret who runs the Step By Step program and set up a time to go to the school! We also had a crazy time in the city. After our meeting we had to run some errands and we were on our way home and trying to find a dala- dala. The daladala stations are pretty crazy because there are so many and they all want the Mzungus to be on their dala-dala and we couldn’t decide which one to take and I guess they were sick of waiting so one of the guys just came and scooped me right up and plopped me in the dala-dala!! Hahaha it was pretty funny! Then the same guy started giving out kisses which was more gross then funny!! Tuesday we went and visited the Step By Step school, which is a school for disabled children. We went to the school to do a needs assessment and decide what we can do to help. They are in the process of building a new building so that they can use the one they are in right now just for therapy and sensory activities. They told us about some planting projects they need done so we went  back the next day to start! On Wednesday we helped pump water, and plant and move plants closer to the water pump and we got to play soccer with some of the kids! It was so fun and they were dominating us! Haha We found out we won’t be able to do any work at the school because we don’t have our work visas, which is a bummer but we are still going to be able to do sensory items for them so that is good!!

After we were done we had a meeting in town with the Shalom Center. We met them at ShopRite and talked about the organization and what we could do. The Shalom Center is a center for street kids and orphans and they help support them in school and getting them training so they can have a career. They also help them with health and hygiene. We set up a time to go on Saturday to meet the kids and see more about the organization.

Friday was a good/bad day! Haha It was our day off so Britt and I went into town to find some leggings and that’s alllll we wanted!! It was such a hassle and everyone was being so unfair with prices and not going down so I was soooo frustrating!! We even went to the second hand market and it was no bueno too! We spent like 4 hours looking and came home empty handed soo it was a bust and we were not happy! When we got home though we got to go to this new Mexican restaurant that just opened and celebrated our cooks birthday! Her name is Pendo and she is soooooo wonderful!!!! Her 2 kids, and her aunt and uncle and their kids came too! Her uncle has helped us out a lot and we just love their family!!!! J After dinner we all came back to our house and had a gorilla poop cake and had a dance party!! It was soo fun and made our day much better!!!

Saturday we got to go meet the kids at the Shalom Center and we taught them like a 30 minute hygiene lesson. We talked about brushing teeth, and showering, and washing hands! Some of the volunteers did a great skit with a cavity and Mr. Toothbrush! It was pretty funny!! Chanel also made up a spur of the moment hand washing song and it was a hit!! Haha So it was fun to be with the kids and I hope we can work something out with them!!!  I am super excited about a project Britt and I have come up with the help the Albino Peacemakers Group and we think we have permission to do it!! We will hopefully have a meeting this week sometime so there will be more to come!!! J
